The clip material is Nickel Titanium making it stable enough not to deform under repeated opening and closing or mastication including brushing. The clip rests into the spaces above the archwire slot. Its sufficient size and diameter resist deformation.

Is it necessary to use crimpable mini stops in all cases and what is the function
of mini stops?
It is necessary to use the crimpable mini stops to prevent the archwire(s) from sliding through the brackets. If not, it will result in the archwire(s) sliding out of the buccal tubes resulting in discomfort to the patient. Crimpable mini stops are available in two sizes:
Small
Crimpable Mini Stops
For round archwires

How do you totally remove the clip?
To open the clip, you insert the explorer and rotate it (do not pull straight down). During the rotation you will hear and feel a “click”. To remove the clip you will Pull Down on it past the first click and it will completely disengage.
