Check occlusally to
ensure the bases adapt perfectly to the tooth surfaces. If necessary, additional adaptation could be performed with a PANTERA® Three
Prong Plier.

If shortest setting is needed for a small space, the space maintainer rod will need to be trimmed and polished for patient comfort. (see example)
Etch each tooth surface for one minute. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Bond retainer with Resilience® Light-Cure Adhesive and light cure each tooth.
Space Regaining Instructions

Choose the proper space maintainer by its color mark and remove the coil spring. Green - Upper Right Yellow - Upper Left Red - Lower Right White - Lower Left
Adjust the length of the space maintainer by applying a depressive force with stainless steel ligature wire using a Mathieu Hemostat. Slowly twist the stainless steel ligature wire to the necessary length.
Etch each tooth surface for one minute. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Bond the space maintainer with Resilience® Light-Cure Adhesive and light cure each tooth.
6.
Cut the stainless steel ligature wire. The space maintainer will start to apply force to regain the lost space or up-right the adjacent teeth. (Pay attention to the Rules of Anchorage).
